September was another busy month in Brantford real estate with 133 properties changing hands and 196 homes coming on the market. The market overall continues to slow down from peak activity in June & July. Sales activity continues to be ahead of pace from 2013 and 2012 and the overall lack of inventory is the main factor keeping the market in tilted towards the sellers. Based on trends we can expect approximately 120 homes to sell in October – however there is no relief in sight for the low inventory levels.

June and July were the strongest months year-to-date for residential sales here in Brantford with 173 homes sold in each month – we have seen a slight decrease in both demand for homes (with 153 properties selling last month), and also the number of homes coming on the market, which peaked in July at 232 properties and has come back down to 198 properties on the market in August.
